Kate is here and we are baking Chocolate chip cookies today. I have adapted this version of the recipe from the Toll House recipe found on the back of Nestle Semi Sweet Morsels
Here is how it goes:
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F and line half sheet pans with sil pat mats or parchment paper.
4 1/2 C all purpose flour
2 t. baking soda
2 t. kosher salt
3 sticks softened butter (1 1/2 C.)
1/2 C. butter flavor Crisco
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. packed dark brown sugar
2 t. pure vanilla extract
4 lg. eggs
6 C. Semi sweet chocolate morsels
2 t. baking soda
2 t. kosher salt
3 sticks softened butter (1 1/2 C.)
1/2 C. butter flavor Crisco
1 1/2 C. sugar
1 1/2 C. packed dark brown sugar
2 t. pure vanilla extract
4 lg. eggs
6 C. Semi sweet chocolate morsels
Combine the first three ingredients in a medium sized bowl and whisk together well to combine. Using a large mixer bowl combine the butter, shortening, sugar, and vanilla and beat until creamy. Add the eggs one at a time beating after each addition.
Gradually beat in the flour mixture until well combined.
Stir in the chocolate chips.
Drop by spoon fulls onto prepared pans and bake for 11 minutes. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 2-3 minutes before removing them to racks for further cooling.
