Prayer for our Country and our People for Election Day.

I have been a little concerned about the election.  I have just a bit of apprehension over the degree of trepidation I feel coming through when listening to some of the folks on television and on the radio.

Given all of the  disasters and perils we currently face and the height that emotions are running my fear is that regardless of who finally wins the current election there may be enough unrest to insight bad judgement and poor behavior on the part of some.

I am powerless except to pray and so I offer this prayer of unity lest some forget we ARE ONE PEOPLE.

Psalm 107:26-29 KJV
They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths:  their soul is melted because of trouble.  They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits end.  Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.  He maketh the storm calm, so that the waves thereof are still.

Our Father, who is in Heaven, we thank You for the Blessings of our forefathers who brought forth this great nation.  We pray for Your love and mercy upon all of our people this coming election day that You will guide us with a sense of purpose, unity, and peace as we make our ways to the voting booths through the highways and byways.

Father we ask that angels will deliver us all safely and that You Lord will perfect that which concerns us.  Your mercy, Oh Lord endures forever,  forsake not the works of Your own hands.  Lord we trust in You alone and enemies and negative aspects do not defeat us.  You rescue us because You always do right.

We thank You for cutting off the strength of those who would do harm or hurt and increase the power of all good men in their place.  We thank You for raising up godly men and women to govern over us.  We pray that our President, whomever may be elected, lives close to You forever Lord.  We believe You have sent out Your loving kindness and  truth to guard and watch over our elected officials.  May our President live long.  I will pray for him and bless him.  Thank You for helping our President judge as You would,

My soul finds rest in You alone, Lord, for You alone are my hope.  Not my will but Thine be done, in Jesus Holy name we pray.   A-men.
